What's in it

TWs & Themes

Mütvia is a grounded, folkloric fantasy campaign that deals with survival, power exchanges, and consequence. The tone is serious without being gratuitous, and humor arises naturally rather than being the focus.

Mütvia may include:

  • violence and physical injury
  • death, dying, and undeath
  • political oppression and abuse of authority
  • religious imagery and corruption
  • body horror
  • eldritch/cosmic horror
  • self-harm themes
  • psychological stress and fear
  • moral compromise, moral ambiguity, and ethically difficult choices
  • grief, loss, and trauma (non-exploitative)

These elements are handled with intent and care, not for shock value. If any of the above are a hard no for you, this may not be the right table — and that’s okay.

Audio & Sensory Elements

The game uses ambient sound design during play. This may include:

  • environmental soundscapes (weather, interiors, wilderness)
  • non-musical audio cues used as narrative signals
  • sudden or unexpected sounds intended to convey danger or tension

Audio is used to support atmosphere and storytelling, not to overwhelm. Volume levels will be kept reasonable, and players can often adjustment their own volume or flag concerns at any time.

If you have sensory sensitivities, auditory processing concerns, or accessibility needs related to sound, please note this in your audition form so accommodations can be made.

Is This Right for You?

You may enjoy this project if you:

  • like long-form character arcs
  • value collaboration over spotlight
  • hyped about lifting other people up in roleplay
  • enjoy slow-burn storytelling
  • want to help build something steady from the ground up

If you’re unsure, that’s okay. Read through, sit with it, and if it feels like a good fit, we’d love to see you apply.

What this is?

Mütvia (working title) is a long-form, weekly live-streamed tabletop campaign set in a dark fantasy age of the Ævyndal Campaign Setting. Knowledge of the setting is not required.

It is designed as a flagship actual play. The first season will be completed in 12 to 15 sessions, and may be picked up for additional seasons if successful.

  • System: Pathfinder 2E Remaster (with light house rules)
  • Format: Weekly live stream + edited YouTube release
  • Tone: Folkloric horror, political machinations, survival, consequence
  • Play Style: Collaborative storytelling, character-forward, ensemble-minded
  • Production Quality: Quality is notoriously high on the production end, and hence all this information. At the table it’s just a game with brilliant minds. There’s no showmanship, performance, or rehearsal (mic technique is a thing). We only ask you be present and dedicated to the business at the table to honor the time and attention of everyone else.

Schedule & Commitment

This campaign runs on a fixed weekly schedule.

Session time

  • Tuesdays
    • Muster: 7:30 pm
    • Go live: 8:00 pm
  • Sessions run approximately 3 to 3.5 hours

Season One is planned as a 12–15 episode arc, with a break afterward before deciding on continuation.

What matters most is reliability. You don’t need to be perfect—but you do need to communicate, show up prepared, and treat the time with respect.

Table Style

Mütvia is an ensemble game.

The table values:

  • shared spotlight
  • listening and responding to others
  • characters shaped by the world, not insulated from it

Humor and warmth will happen naturally, but the overall tone leans toward grounded, folkloric, and sometimes tense storytelling rather than constant comedy or power fantasy.

Audition Process

Auditions happen in two steps:

  1. Written application via the form below
  2. Live Discord round-robin audition for a short list of applicants

Auditioning is as easy as playing a quick game with us! The live audition is a collaborative one-shot with other auditionees. Pre-gen characters supplied. It’s a chance to see how people interact and your play style, not to “perform” or compete.

How we do it

Safety Tools

Lines & Veils (Pre-Campaign). Used to establish boundaries.

  • Lines: content that will not appear at all
  • Veils: content that may exist but will fade to black or be handled off-screen

We use this form, or a variation of it once players have been chosen.

X-Card or Equivalent Stop Signal. Any player can halt or change a scene. No justification required. Treated as normal table function, not disruption.

Open Door Policy. Players may step away from the table, pause participation, and/or disengage briefly. No penalties. No pressure to explain.

Aftercare. Check-ins occur off-camera during intermissions and after a session. They may also occur between sessions and when needed.

Livestream & Recording

This is a public-facing project.

By auditioning, you’re agreeing that:

  • sessions will be livestreamed
  • audio and video will be recorded
  • episodes may be edited and reposted (e.g., YouTube)

You don’t need prior streaming experience.
You do need to be comfortable being on camera and participating consistently.

Equipment

This is a live-streamed actual play. We’re looking for clear audio and stable video that won’t distract from play. You don’t need a professional studio, but you do need to meet the baseline.

BASIC KIT

  • Laptop / desktop (two monitors recommended)
  • Stable internet connection (wired preferred)
  • Comfortable using Discord and a virtual tabletop (will teach, no costs to you)
AUDIO
  • A dedicated microphone (USB or XLR)
  • USB mics are fine!
  • Tip: use dynamic mics in untreated rooms
  • Headphones required (no open speakers)

Not acceptable

  • Laptop or webcam microphones
  • Phone audio
  • Open speakers causing echo

ENVIRONMENT

  • Reasonably quiet room
  • Minimal background noise (fans, AC, traffic)
  • Willingness to do a short AV check before each session
VIDEO
  • A webcam or camera capable of 720p or better
  • Stable mounting (no handheld cameras)
  • Face clearly visible and well lit
  • Neutral or unobtrusive background
